Editorial policy
The standards we hold ourselves to, and how we keep editorial work separate from the business.
Template text. This page uses placeholder policy wording. Have it reviewed by your editor and legal counsel before launch.
Reporting standards
We confirm news with the company involved or with documentation before publishing. When we rely on a single source, we say so. Rumors are labeled as rumors, and we don’t publish leaks of unreleased work without clear public interest.
Corrections and updates
When we get something wrong we fix it promptly and add a dated note at the top of the story explaining what changed. Developing stories show an “Updated” timestamp alongside the original publication time.
How we review games
We aim to finish a game before reviewing it. Every review lists the platform we played on, our hardware where relevant, approximate playtime and whether the copy was supplied by the publisher. Publishers do not see reviews before publication.
Review scores
We score from 1 to 10 in half-point steps. A score reflects the game as reviewed; if a patch substantially changes the experience we may update the review and note it at the top.
Sponsored content
Sponsored articles are paid for by an advertiser and produced by our commercial team, not the editorial staff. They are labeled “Sponsored” with the sponsor’s name on cards, on the article itself and in structured data.
Affiliate links
Some buying guides contain affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Recommendations are made independently, and every guide with affiliate links carries a disclosure at the top.
Advertising
Ads are labeled “Advertisement,” kept separate from editorial content and navigation, and never autoplay with sound or cover what you’re reading.
Community guidelines
Comments are moderated. Be respectful, tag spoilers, and keep personal attacks, harassment and hate speech out. We remove comments that break these rules.
