The standard edition of Grand Theft Auto VI will take up 210GB of storage on PS5, according to PlayStation Game Size, an X account that tracks install sizes for PS5 games. Rockstar Games has not confirmed the figure. GameSpot and Push Square both reported it on October 27.
GameSpot says the 210GB number applies to the $80 standard edition. No install size has been reported for the $100 Ultimate Edition, which GameSpot says includes a lot of content missing from the standard version. The size of the Xbox Series X|S version has not been reported either. GameSpot expects it to be about the same, though that is the outlet’s guess.
Push Square calls PlayStation Game Size a fairly reliable source for PS5 install sizes. Its advice to players was short: “Make some room.”
According to GameSpot, preloading begins on November 12 and the game launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The outlet says the reported size is twice that of Red Dead Redemption II, Rockstar’s previous game, which would put GTA 6 among the largest games ever released by file size. GameSpot also notes that the game’s map is three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2‘s, and it expects many players to delete other games to fit it on their consoles.
GameSpot describes GTA 6 as a single-player-only game and says a PC version is expected in early 2027.
