Starfall Tactics follows the crew of the colony carrier Perennial after a jump accident strands it in a graveyard of abandoned stations. You lead boarding squads into those wrecks to salvage fuel, parts, and survivors, while a strategic layer has you managing the carrier’s dwindling resources between missions.
The signature mechanic is gravity: stations spin, decks lose power, and zero-g sections let units push off walls, flank across ceilings, or vent enemies into space. Cover is directional and destructible, and every squad member carries injuries forward if they are not treated.
A full campaign runs around 35 hours, with an ironman mode and a skirmish generator for players who want more.
Starfall Tactics’ gravity-based battlefields are thrilling, turning every boarding action into a three-dimensional puzzle. Its resource-starved campaign and sluggish midgame are harder to love, but tactics fans will find plenty to chew on.
Ninth Orbit’s strategy game gets a new eight-hour campaign aboard a derelict shipyard on December 3, alongside a free update with an undo option and new accessibility settings.
