Rockstar releases GTA 6 launch trailer ahead of November 19 console release

The trailer is likely the last before launch. It shows The Keys and features a new Justice single, and the PC version still has no official announcement.

Eurogamer reports that the trailer opens on The Keys, an area that earlier trailers and gameplay footage had mostly left out. The footage shows heists, including what appears to be a helicopter escape that goes wrong, along with a police chase and quick shots of other characters. It also includes a shower scene with protagonists Jason and Lucia. Eurogamer pointed out a few details viewers have picked up on, such as what looks like an ankle monitor on Lucia and a collect call Jason receives early in the trailer. The outlet suggested these could mean Lucia is on parole or calling from jail, but those readings are its own guesses.

The trailer’s music is “Flower in a Hurricane,” a new single from Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. GameSpot and PC Gamer note that Justice also wrote the game’s original score. The first two trailers used licensed songs instead, according to PC Gamer.

According to GameSpot, the footage was captured on a base PS5. The trailer carries PlayStation branding and shows an in-game controller that resembles a DualSense, which GameSpot attributes to Sony and Rockstar’s joint promotion of the game.

PC Gamer quoted a synopsis saying Jason and Lucia end up “in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida” after a simple job falls apart.

Rockstar has not announced a PC version or given it a date. A recent report pointed to early 2027, but that remains unconfirmed. Eurogamer also noted the timing of the release: Rockstar’s employment tribunal is taking place in Glasgow this week, and the trailer follows a week in which a hacker known as Cyberleek leaked gameplay videos.
