Battlefield Studios' multiplayer shooter launched its Season 5 update this week, adding new maps, weapons and vehicles.
The campaign is set in 2027, after the collapse of NATO has allowed the private military corporation Pax Armata to rise. Players join the U.S. Marine Raiders unit Dagger 1-3 to prevent a new global conflict and uncover a conspiracy.
Players fight on foot or operate military vehicles across large battlefields, using class-based squad roles and environmental destruction. The game includes Battlefield Portal, a toolset for creating and sharing custom multiplayer experiences.

Players flagged misspelled text and other oddities in new skins. The studio promised fixes and tighter quality checks but did not answer questions about generative AI.
Players blamed the lower XP rates on a deliberate nerf because they arrived alongside a paid $30 kit that unlocks progression instantly.
