About the game
The Long Winter Road follows siblings Nell and Arlo as they drive their father’s old station wagon north to scatter his ashes before the mountain passes close for the season. The trip is long, the radio is unreliable, and the two of them have not spoken properly in years.
Most of the game happens in the car: you pick routes, choose where to stop, and steer conversations through a dialogue system that tracks not just what is said but what is left unsaid. Roadside diners, motels, and hitchhikers fill in the rest.
Small Hours is targeting the first quarter of 2027, with Paper Lantern Publishing handling the release.
