A new Fallout 4 campaign called FEVer Dreams was released with no advance announcement, according to Polygon. The add-on is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC through Bethesda’s Creation platform.
Polygon reports that the campaign comes from the modding group @kinggathcreates. Most fan-made content is made independently, but this one was produced in partnership with Bethesda. Its store description reads, “Presented by Bethesda Game Studios.”
Courtenay Taylor and Brian T. Delaney, who voiced the two protagonists in the original Fallout 4, return for the new content. Players still choose one of the two, and according to Polygon, the spouse they didn’t pick talks to them throughout the adventure.
The campaign opens with the player locked up, unarmed and apparently infected with an active strain of the Forced Evolutionary Virus, the series’ bioweapon. Polygon describes it as a dungeon in the style of an escape room. It is built mostly around puzzles, though some combat remains, and it digs into the lore behind FEV. The outlet says it features returning faces alongside new gear, weapons and characters.
According to Polygon, the official trailer shows a facility full of Deathclaws and mini nukes, with visuals that play with the player’s perception. It also hints at hard moral choices. In one scene, a ghoul tells the player that only one of them can take the last dose of what seems to be a cure for FEV, then asks, “How do you think we should handle this?”
Once downloaded, the quest starts when players find a Mr. Gutsy robot in Diamond City’s market area, Polygon reports.
