Bracken & Bone has released patch 1.0.3 for Hollowmere on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, a week after the survival horror game launched. The update is modest in size but addresses three of the issues players raised most often in the studio’s feedback channels.
The first is a field-of-view slider, ranging from 70 to 100 degrees on PC and 70 to 90 on consoles. Several players had reported motion discomfort with the original fixed value, especially in the narrow boardwalk sections. The second is a fix for lantern flicker, a lighting bug that caused Ada Kell’s lantern to strobe rapidly near certain water surfaces on PC systems with high refresh rates.
The third change is to the Pump House chase in chapter four. Bracken & Bone has widened the timing window for closing the second floodgate and moved a checkpoint to just before the final corridor, so a failed attempt no longer sends you back through the valve puzzle.
- Field-of-view slider added to the display settings.
- Fixed lantern flicker near water surfaces at refresh rates above 120Hz.
- Pump House chase: wider floodgate timing window and an added checkpoint.
- Subtitles can now display speaker names and directional indicators for off-screen voices.
- Fixed the woodstove timer in the Reedbank cabin continuing to burn while the save ledger was open.
The chase was meant to be frightening, not a test of memorization. Too many people were seeing it six or seven times, and by then it isn’t scary anymore.

The studio says a second patch focused on performance on Xbox Series S is in testing and should arrive before the end of the month.
