Chrome Saints will hold an open beta for its arena mode from October 30 to November 2, Redline Assembly and Grey Harbor announced this morning. The beta is free on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, requires no preorder, and has cross-play enabled across all three platforms, with an option to limit matchmaking to consoles.
The beta includes three maps and two modes. Glasshouse is a vertical atrium built around a central elevator shaft; Overpass 9 is a highway interchange with long grapple lines between the ramps; and Sump is a flooded maintenance level where sliding through water vents heat from your augments faster. The modes are Districts, a six-versus-six control mode, and Heatwave, a free-for-all in which every kill raises the heat ceiling for the whole lobby.
Heat is the system to watch. Every augment in Chrome Saints draws from a single shared meter, and overusing wall-runs, grapples, or the slide-boost forces your character to cool off with conventional weapons. Redline says the beta is partly a test of how that balance holds up in competitive play, and that the numbers are likely to change before launch.
Arena players find the edges of a movement system faster than any playtest group we could hire. We want them to break it now, while we can still fix it.
Marcus Odum, multiplayer director at Redline Assembly, in the announcement
The two-player co-op campaign is not part of the beta. Grey Harbor continues to list the game for December 2026 but has not given a specific date, and Redline says one will come “after we’ve read the beta data.” Progression and unlocks from the beta will not carry over.
