007 First Light will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18, 2027, developer IO Interactive announced Wednesday, according to Polygon. The date ends months of uncertainty for the Switch 2 version, which has been delayed more than once. The game came out on other consoles and PC in May.

In a news release quoted by Polygon, IO Interactive said it will spend the time before launch on further optimization and performance work for the Switch 2 version, “ensuring it meets the standard players expect at launch.”

Polygon reports that 007 First Light – Deluxe Edition will cost $69.99 on Switch 2. Players who preorder will get early access to a GoldenEye Suit, which Polygon describes as a GoldenEye-themed apology for the long wait. The Switch 2 version also comes with gold gadgets and four skins for Tacsim missions: Day of the Dead, Desert Explorer, Silent Anchor and Gentleman Operator.

An Amazon-exclusive 007 First Light – Specialist Edition adds a Classic Tuxedo skin. Polygon says the physical release will be a game-key card, as is common for third-party physical games on Switch 2.

The game has taken a long road to Nintendo’s console. According to Polygon, the Switch 2 version was delayed about a month before the May launch on other platforms, and that launch had itself followed an earlier delay. The Switch 2 version was then aimed at summer 2026, before another delay last month moved it to March 2027.

007 First Light is an origin story that follows a young James Bond through his 00 training and into his first mission abroad. Polygon also notes that the game’s Expanded Operations add-on was released today.
